Last weekend, our vibrant community came together for an unforgettable concert as members of the Saffron Walden, Bishops Stortford, Cambridge, and St Neots choirs took the stage under the direction of our enthusiastic choir leader, Liam Priestnall. It was an exciting day, especially for some members who performed live for the very first time! Liam couldn’t contain his joy as the performance unfolded, feeling truly connected to the heart of our local community. The best part? It was entirely free to attend! As the clouds rolled in, we were relieved that the rain held off, allowing us to perform outside. The atmosphere was lively, with friends and family gathering to support their loved ones. It took a bit of time for everyone to get into position, but that only added to the excitement. The concert featured a delightful mix of well-known songs that had everyone singing along. Our talented singers brought to life hits like "Roll With It" by Oasis and "Unwritten" by Natasha Bedingfield, alongside classics such as "Shallow" and "I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing." The crowd erupted with applause, and there were even a few spontaneous dance moments from the younger audience members! Beyond the enchanting music, this recital also raised awareness for the wonderful work of the Saffron Walden Round Table, a charity dedicated to supporting local initiatives that benefit our community. **STOP PRESS** Rock Choir, the largest contemporary choir in the world is set to release their brand-new single ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ on Friday 21st March. The single features the Founder of Rock Choir, Caroline Redman Lusher along with the voices of over 6000 Rock Choir Members.
The single will be performed for the first time on national TV on the day of release and broadcast to the entire nation on BBC1 as part of the Comic Relief ‘Red Nose Day’ show. This will be the biggest choir performance the show has ever hosted and will be an emotional and poignant moment with a few surprises thrown in!
The track, which was originally performed by Keane was recorded over several months when it was performed by Rock Choir Members in the audience of a recent sold-out theatre tour which toured across the UK in 2024 led by Caroline and The Rock Choir Vocal Group. The audience became part of the show and enjoyed a fully interactive singing concert experience.
