Last weekend, the South Belfast Late, Lisburn Late, and Lisburn Morning Rock Choirs came together for a truly heartwarming concert at the Age Friendly Futures Summit. Under the inspiring leadership of Clare Galway, excitement filled the air as choir members arrived early, eager to perform and perhaps sprinkle on a bit of extra glitter before hitting the stage! The atmosphere was electric, with families and friends gathering to support their loved ones while the general public joined in to enjoy the uplifting melodies. Even though we don’t quite recall the weather, the warmth of community spirit shone through, making it a delightful experience for everyone involved. The concert featured a fantastic repertoire that had the audience clapping along and tapping their feet. With classics like "Shake A Tailfeather" and "Sweet Child of Mine," as well as feel-good anthems like "Flashdance: What a Feeling" and "Super Trouper," it was a joyous celebration of music and camaraderie. Each song brought smiles to the faces of the singers and listeners alike, encapsulating the magic of live performance. We were thrilled to see so many familiar faces in the crowd, sharing in the joy of the event. The performance not only showcased the incredible talent of our choirs but also highlighted the importance of community. It was a reminder of how music can unite us all, leaving everyone with a sense of belonging and happiness. Thank you to everyone who attended and cheered us on! **STOP PRESS** Rock Choir, the largest contemporary choir in the world is set to release their brand-new single ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ on Friday 21st March. The single features the Founder of Rock Choir, Caroline Redman Lusher along with the voices of over 6000 Rock Choir Members.
The single will be performed for the first time on national TV on the day of release and broadcast to the entire nation on BBC1 as part of the Comic Relief ‘Red Nose Day’ show. This will be the biggest choir performance the show has ever hosted and will be an emotional and poignant moment with a few surprises thrown in!
The track, which was originally performed by Keane was recorded over several months when it was performed by Rock Choir Members in the audience of a recent sold-out theatre tour which toured across the UK in 2024 led by Caroline and The Rock Choir Vocal Group. The audience became part of the show and enjoyed a fully interactive singing concert experience.
