What a delightful day we had at the Asda Blantyre concert, featuring our talented singers from the Greenock, Hamilton, Paisley & Houston, and Helensburgh choirs! Led by the ever-encouraging Jen Bonnar, our team of vocalists radiated joy and harmony, making it a truly memorable event. The concert was free to attend, and we were thrilled to see so many friends and family in the audience, creating an uplifting atmosphere filled with clapping and smiles. With rain showers threatening before the performance, we were immensely grateful that the concert took place indoors. It allowed us to focus on the music, and boy, did we have a lineup that got everyone singing along! From the rock anthems of "Don't Stop Me Now" to the heartfelt melodies of "Haven't Met You Yet," and even the infectious energy of "Flashdance," we covered a range of genres that had the audience swaying and tapping their feet. Other crowd favorites included "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" and "Unwritten," showcasing our choir's versatility and passion for performance. Our concert also had a special purpose, as we proudly supported Tickled Pink, a charity dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer research and awareness. Their impactful work resonates not only in the local community but far beyond, and we were honored to contribute to such a noble cause. Seeing the audience dance and cheer for us made every rehearsal worth it. Huge thanks to everyone who helped make this event a success, from the organizers to the cheerful attendees. **STOP PRESS** Rock Choir, the largest contemporary choir in the world is set to release their brand-new single ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ on Friday 21st March. The single features the Founder of Rock Choir, Caroline Redman Lusher along with the voices of over 6000 Rock Choir Members.
The single will be performed for the first time on national TV on the day of release and broadcast to the entire nation on BBC1 as part of the Comic Relief ‘Red Nose Day’ show. This will be the biggest choir performance the show has ever hosted and will be an emotional and poignant moment with a few surprises thrown in!
The track, which was originally performed by Keane was recorded over several months when it was performed by Rock Choir Members in the audience of a recent sold-out theatre tour which toured across the UK in 2024 led by Caroline and The Rock Choir Vocal Group. The audience became part of the show and enjoyed a fully interactive singing concert experience.
