What a fantastic day filled with music and community spirit! The recent concert, featuring members from the Burnham, Bridgwater, Weston, Taunton, and Clevedon choirs, was a resounding success. Led by the talented Mike Aris, the choir members truly shone, showcasing their professionalism and enthusiasm throughout the performance. Mike remarked, "The choir members did so well, everyone was truly professional in their performance and deserved to be up there." With the weather being a bit unpredictable, we were delighted that the rain held off, allowing us to perform comfortably indoors. The atmosphere was electric, filled with the clapping of friends and family who came out to support their loved ones. Some choir members even arrived hours early, ready to soak in the excitement and camaraderie. The concert featured a selection of beloved songs that had everyone humming along. From the uplifting beats of “Roll With It” to the heartfelt melodies of “Somewhere Only We Know,” the variety kept the audience engaged. We also rocked out to classics like “Flashdance” and “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” each note echoing the joy of shared musical moments. What made the event even more special was that it was free to attend, with donations supporting the important work of The Aortic Centre Trust, which focuses on raising awareness and providing support for those affected by aortic conditions. **STOP PRESS** Rock Choir, the largest contemporary choir in the world is set to release their brand-new single ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ on Friday 21st March. The single features the Founder of Rock Choir, Caroline Redman Lusher along with the voices of over 6000 Rock Choir Members.
The single will be performed for the first time on national TV on the day of release and broadcast to the entire nation on BBC1 as part of the Comic Relief ‘Red Nose Day’ show. This will be the biggest choir performance the show has ever hosted and will be an emotional and poignant moment with a few surprises thrown in!
The track, which was originally performed by Keane was recorded over several months when it was performed by Rock Choir Members in the audience of a recent sold-out theatre tour which toured across the UK in 2024 led by Caroline and The Rock Choir Vocal Group. The audience became part of the show and enjoyed a fully interactive singing concert experience.
