The recent Bedford Proms concert was a delightful affair, bringing together the Bedford am and Bedford pm choirs under the expert guidance of choir leader Rob Baker. With a spirit of camaraderie and excitement, choir members from across the area showcased their talents in a performance that truly resonated with the audience. Rob remarked, "The choir members did so well, everyone was truly professional in their performance and deserved to be up there." As the weather threatened rain showers, we were all grateful that the concert took place indoors, allowing us to enjoy the music without a hitch. Many choir members made a day of it, arriving early to indulge in a bit of local retail therapy, while friends and family filled the venue with warmth and support. The setlist was a vibrant mix of well-loved hits that got everyone clapping along. The choir performed crowd favorites like "Roll With It" by Oasis and the uplifting "Unwritten" by Natasha Bedingfield, alongside tracks such as "Flashdance" and "Call Me." Each song brought its own unique energy, creating a lively atmosphere that had the audience smiling and tapping their feet. This wonderful event also supported the local charity, the Bedford Foodbank, which does vital work in our community to provide food and assistance to those in need. **STOP PRESS** Rock Choir, the largest contemporary choir in the world is set to release their brand-new single ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ on Friday 21st March. The single features the Founder of Rock Choir, Caroline Redman Lusher along with the voices of over 6000 Rock Choir Members.
The single will be performed for the first time on national TV on the day of release and broadcast to the entire nation on BBC1 as part of the Comic Relief ‘Red Nose Day’ show. This will be the biggest choir performance the show has ever hosted and will be an emotional and poignant moment with a few surprises thrown in!
The track, which was originally performed by Keane was recorded over several months when it was performed by Rock Choir Members in the audience of a recent sold-out theatre tour which toured across the UK in 2024 led by Caroline and The Rock Choir Vocal Group. The audience became part of the show and enjoyed a fully interactive singing concert experience.
