The recent performance at Beulah Vista Care Home was a heartwarming celebration of community and music, showcasing the talents of our wonderful choir members from Oxted, Caterham, Sutton, Purley, Croydon, and Waterloo. Led by the inspiring Valerie Turnbull, the event brought together singers and their families, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that truly highlighted the joy of sharing music. Despite the sunny weather, which added a cheerful touch to the day, we performed indoors, allowing us to focus on harmonizing those beautiful melodies. Many choir members arrived early, taking advantage of the local shops and immersing themselves in a bit of retail therapy before the show. The excitement was palpable as we took our positions, working together to create a stunning performance. The audience, filled with supportive family and friends, clapped enthusiastically as we performed a delightful mix of songs, including the heartfelt 'Two Hearts' by Phil Collins and the uplifting 'Mountain' by Sam Ryder. Other crowd favorites that resonated throughout the venue were 'Call Me,' 'Somewhere Only We Know,' and 'Bridge Over Troubled Water.' Each note seemed to weave a connection between us and the audience, reminding us all of the power of music to bring people together. We were proud to support a local charity during this event, which works tirelessly to uplift our community. **STOP PRESS** Rock Choir, the largest contemporary choir in the world is set to release their brand-new single ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ on Friday 21st March. The single features the Founder of Rock Choir, Caroline Redman Lusher along with the voices of over 6000 Rock Choir Members.
The single will be performed for the first time on national TV on the day of release and broadcast to the entire nation on BBC1 as part of the Comic Relief ‘Red Nose Day’ show. This will be the biggest choir performance the show has ever hosted and will be an emotional and poignant moment with a few surprises thrown in!
The track, which was originally performed by Keane was recorded over several months when it was performed by Rock Choir Members in the audience of a recent sold-out theatre tour which toured across the UK in 2024 led by Caroline and The Rock Choir Vocal Group. The audience became part of the show and enjoyed a fully interactive singing concert experience.
