What a fantastic day it was for our choir, filled with joy and music! Under the warm sun, we gathered at our recent concert, where members from the Rochester, Gravesend AM, Rainham/Gillingham, Sittingbourne, West Malling, Maidstone AM, and Gravesend PM choirs came together, led by the ever-inspiring Paul Gostling. For many of our newer members, this was their first live performance with us, and the excitement was palpable! Paul remarked, “They loved it, and the audience was great too!” The atmosphere was electric, with families and friends cheering us on, creating a wonderfully supportive environment. Some choir members even arrived early, turning the day into a delightful outing filled with local shopping and camaraderie before we took to the stage. We performed a mix of beloved songs, including the upbeat “What Christmas Means to Me,” which had everyone smiling and tapping their feet. The harmonious blend of voices really showcased the talent within our community, and it was heartwarming to see the audience join in with claps and cheers. Beyond the enchanting music, this gig had another purpose. It was organized in aid of Ellenor, a charity dedicated to providing vital support for families facing terminal illness in our local area. Their work is truly invaluable, and we were proud to contribute to such a noble cause. Huge thanks to everyone who helped make this concert a success! **STOP PRESS** Rock Choir, the largest contemporary choir in the world is set to release their brand-new single ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ on Friday 21st March. The single features the Founder of Rock Choir, Caroline Redman Lusher along with the voices of over 6000 Rock Choir Members.
The single will be performed for the first time on national TV on the day of release and broadcast to the entire nation on BBC1 as part of the Comic Relief ‘Red Nose Day’ show. This will be the biggest choir performance the show has ever hosted and will be an emotional and poignant moment with a few surprises thrown in!
The track, which was originally performed by Keane was recorded over several months when it was performed by Rock Choir Members in the audience of a recent sold-out theatre tour which toured across the UK in 2024 led by Caroline and The Rock Choir Vocal Group. The audience became part of the show and enjoyed a fully interactive singing concert experience.
