What a fantastic day it was for our local community choirs! Last weekend, choir members from Rochester, Gravesend AM, Rainham/Gillingham, Sittingbourne, West Malling, Maidstone AM, and Gravesend PM gathered at Bluewater for a truly memorable concert, led by our enthusiastic choir leader, Paul Gostling. The atmosphere was electric, with friends and family supporting us and creating a warm, inviting environment that felt like home. With the sun shining brightly, we took to the stage, our voices harmonizing beautifully as we performed some well-loved classics. The crowd swayed to the rhythm of songs like "What Christmas Means To Me" and "Lemon Tree," each note echoing the joy and community spirit that singing brings. Many of us arrived early, buzzing with excitement and a sprinkle of glitter, ready to share our passion for music. This free concert not only showcased our talents but also raised awareness and funds for Ellenor, a charity dedicated to providing care and support for families facing life-limiting illnesses in our local area. It was heartwarming to see the impact we could make together, reminding us of the power of music to unite and uplift. As we wrapped up the performance, the sound of applause and cheers filled the air, leaving us all with smiles on our faces and a shared sense of accomplishment. **STOP PRESS** Rock Choir, the largest contemporary choir in the world is set to release their brand-new single ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ on Friday 21st March. The single features the Founder of Rock Choir, Caroline Redman Lusher along with the voices of over 6000 Rock Choir Members.
The single will be performed for the first time on national TV on the day of release and broadcast to the entire nation on BBC1 as part of the Comic Relief ‘Red Nose Day’ show. This will be the biggest choir performance the show has ever hosted and will be an emotional and poignant moment with a few surprises thrown in!
The track, which was originally performed by Keane was recorded over several months when it was performed by Rock Choir Members in the audience of a recent sold-out theatre tour which toured across the UK in 2024 led by Caroline and The Rock Choir Vocal Group. The audience became part of the show and enjoyed a fully interactive singing concert experience.
