The recent concert at Burhill Golf Club for the AGM and Captain's Drive In was a delightful celebration of music and community, featuring the talented members of the Woking, Weybridge AM + PM, and Staines choirs, all under the expert guidance of choir leader Danny Gortler. With the weather cooperating, the atmosphere was vibrant and joyful, as family and friends filled the audience, creating an uplifting environment filled with applause and smiles. Choir members arrived early, some even indulging in a little retail therapy in the local shops before taking the stage. The excitement was palpable as the singers took their positions, ready to harmonize their hearts out. The program featured a fantastic mix of well-loved songs, including the cheerful "Green Green Grass" by George Ezra, the soulful "Best Of My Love" by The Emotions, and the upbeat "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" made famous by Whitney Houston. Each performance resonated with joy, inviting the audience to sing along and tap their feet to the rhythm. The concert was not just about the music; it was also a chance to support a wonderful local charity. The evening’s proceeds went towards the vital work of The Princess Alice Hospice, which provides compassionate care to those facing life-limiting illnesses in the community. You can learn more about their incredible services on their official site. With heartfelt expressions of gratitude from Danny and the rest of the choir, the event was a true testament to the power of community and the joy of singing together. We can't wait for the next gathering to share more beautiful moments and music!Performance location: Burhill Golf Club, Burwood Rd, Hersham, Walton-on-Thames KT12 4BX
