What a fantastic day it was for the Ballymena & Ballymoney and Jordanstown choirs! Under the wonderful guidance of choir leader Rachel Coulter, we gathered to sing our hearts out for a great cause at the recent Cancer Fund for Children fundraiser. The atmosphere was electric, filled with the warmth of family and friends supporting our talented singers. Despite the rain showers that threatened to drench us, the performance was held indoors, allowing us to share our joy without any worry. Many members arrived early, taking the opportunity for a little local retail therapy while others from nearby choirs joined in to lend their voices. It was a beautiful sight to see everyone come together, creating a sense of community and camaraderie. Our repertoire included crowd-pleasers like Phil Collins' soulful “Two Hearts” and Sam Ryder’s uplifting “Mountain.” The audience clapped and cheered, and you could feel the love in the room as we all celebrated the power of music together. This event was not just about the songs; it was a heartfelt effort to support the incredible work of Cancer Fund for Children, a charity dedicated to helping children and young people affected by cancer. You can learn more about their vital services on their official website. As the last notes faded, we left the venue buzzing with excitement, grateful for the chance to perform and make a difference. Here’s to more community choir events that bring us together in song and spirit!Performance location: 88 Ballyclogh Road, Bushmills, BT57 8XA

Singing in the choir is a much better ‘pick-me-up’ than any anti-depressant tablet prescribed by a doctor. I come away after the weekly choir session with the best feeling ever and the companionship with fellow members is something money can’t buy.’ – Janet (Rock Choir member)
