What a fantastic day it was at the Center Parcs Winter Wonderland! Our Trowbridge, Frome, Warminster/Westbury, and Chippenham choirs, led by the ever-enthusiastic Emma Webb, took the stage and filled the air with joyous melodies. Emma couldn’t have been happier, sharing that “they loved it and the audience were great too!” The warm support from choir members' families and the local community created a truly inviting atmosphere. Even though we performed indoors, the excitement was palpable, with many choir members arriving hours early to soak in the festive spirit. It was heartwarming to see fellow choir members from nearby groups joining us, adding to the sense of camaraderie and community. The repertoire was a delightful mix that had everyone clapping along, featuring classics like the powerful ‘Hallelujah,’ the upbeat ‘Shake It Off,’ and the nostalgic ‘Video Killed the Radio Star.’ Our first half included festive favorites such as ‘I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday’—a beloved song by Roy Wood—and the timeless ‘Sweet Child o' Mine’ from Guns N' Roses. The second half was equally captivating, with performances of ‘Shallow’ and ‘Go Your Own Way’ that left the audience cheering for more. This event was not just about music; it was a celebration of community spirit, bringing together friends, family, and music lovers. The joy of singing together truly made this an unforgettable experience, reminding us all of the magic that happens when we come together as a choir. We were also proud to support local charity efforts, contributing to the community in a meaningful way. **STOP PRESS** Rock Choir, the largest contemporary choir in the world is set to release their brand-new single ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ on Friday 21st March. The single features the Founder of Rock Choir, Caroline Redman Lusher along with the voices of over 6000 Rock Choir Members.
The single will be performed for the first time on national TV on the day of release and broadcast to the entire nation on BBC1 as part of the Comic Relief ‘Red Nose Day’ show. This will be the biggest choir performance the show has ever hosted and will be an emotional and poignant moment with a few surprises thrown in!
The track, which was originally performed by Keane was recorded over several months when it was performed by Rock Choir Members in the audience of a recent sold-out theatre tour which toured across the UK in 2024 led by Caroline and The Rock Choir Vocal Group. The audience became part of the show and enjoyed a fully interactive singing concert experience.
