This event for Concert for Ukraine saw choir members appear live from the Sunderland choir. They were led by their choir leader Rob Slater. For some newer members, this was their first time performing live with the choir! Rob was immensely pleased with the performance and that everyone was getting to perform in the local community. The event was FREE.
We were performing inside. We can’t remember what the weather was doing on the day but everyone was thrilled to be there to sing together. A number of Rock Choir members arrived very early due to the thrill of performing and probably to apply yet more glitter! In addition there were a few members from other nearby choirs there to help and sing on the day. It was wonderful to see the support of family and friends of the choir members, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The choir performed songs from their recent repertoire such as ‘Green Green Grass’ by George Ezra and ‘Shake a Tailfeather’ from the Blues Brothers movie. Beyond the enchanting music, this production had another purpose. It was organized in aid of Ukrainian Famillies Affected by war..
