What a fantastic day it was for the Sunderland choir, led by the ever-enthusiastic Rob Slater! Everyone who took the stage truly shone, delivering stunning performances that had the audience clapping and cheering. Rob couldn't have been prouder, exclaiming, "I am so proud of everyone who performed; they were just brilliant, singing so clearly and nailing the dance moves too!" Though we can't quite recall the weather, the excitement in the air was undeniable. With everyone gathered to sing together, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, bolstered by the presence of relatives and friends cheering on their loved ones. It was heartwarming to see members from nearby choirs joining in, creating a beautiful tapestry of community spirit. The choir treated us to an eclectic mix of well-loved songs, including the upbeat "Shake a Tailfeather" from the Blues Brothers and the soulful "Best Of My Love" by The Emotions. Each note resonated with joy, as singers and audience members alike basked in the magic of music. This event was not just about entertainment; it also supported a noble cause, raising awareness and funds for Ukrainian families affected by war. **STOP PRESS** Rock Choir, the largest contemporary choir in the world is set to release their brand-new single ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ on Friday 21st March. The single features the Founder of Rock Choir, Caroline Redman Lusher along with the voices of over 6000 Rock Choir Members.
The single will be performed for the first time on national TV on the day of release and broadcast to the entire nation on BBC1 as part of the Comic Relief ‘Red Nose Day’ show. This will be the biggest choir performance the show has ever hosted and will be an emotional and poignant moment with a few surprises thrown in!
The track, which was originally performed by Keane was recorded over several months when it was performed by Rock Choir Members in the audience of a recent sold-out theatre tour which toured across the UK in 2024 led by Caroline and The Rock Choir Vocal Group. The audience became part of the show and enjoyed a fully interactive singing concert experience.
