What a heartwarming evening it was at Goodson Lodge Care Home! The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as choir members from the Trowbridge, Frome, Warminster/Westbury, Melksham, and Chippenham choirs gathered to share their love of music under the talented direction of Emma Webb. It was particularly special to see so many members performing for the first time, each one bringing a unique spark to the evening. Emma's joy was palpable as she watched her choir shine in the local community. With the threat of rain looming, we were fortunate to perform indoors, creating a cozy setting that allowed the residents to enjoy every moment. Families and friends filled the audience, their claps and cheers adding to the warmth of the event. It was a delightful experience as our choir members took their places, harmonizing beautifully and showcasing their enthusiasm. The concert featured a fantastic lineup of well-loved songs, including 'Mountain' by Sam Ryder and the upbeat 'Learn to Fly' by Foo Fighters, alongside classics like 'Sweet Child o' Mine' and 'I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing.' Each performance brought smiles to faces and even got some residents tapping their feet along to the rhythm. Beyond the enchanting music, this performance was a celebration of community spirit and togetherness, and it reminded us of the joy that singing can bring. Huge thanks to everyone who made this event possible, including all the choir members who poured their hearts into every note. What a memorable evening of music and camaraderie!Performance location: Goodson Lodge, Hilperton Rd, Trowbridge BA14 7JG

Here’s a quote about the choir – ‘I spend many hours every day driving and in meetings. It’s often quite a struggle to get to Rock Choir and I often don’t really feel like making the effort. Something magic happens when I get there – a combination of the unfailing cheerfulness of our Rock Choir tutor, the physical movement, breathing and singing, the (usually!) lovely sound of the combined voices of the choir – suddenly the stress of the day melts away, energy returns and a feeling of well-being arrives. It’s been a difficult year for me – got divorced, my best friend with terminal illness passed away and I survived a tricky restructure at work, Rock Choir has often been the one really positive highlight in my week – thank you!’ – Sue (Rock Choir Member)
