Recently, the Guildford Godalming and Farnham choirs came together for an unforgettable performance led by the talented Thomas George. For many choir members, this was their first taste of live singing with the group, and the excitement was palpable. Thomas noted how much the singers enjoyed the experience, and the audience added to the warm atmosphere with their enthusiastic applause. Friends and family filled the seats, creating a vibrant, supportive environment that truly celebrated community spirit. Despite the overcast skies, the rain held off, allowing the choir to perform comfortably indoors. Some members even took the opportunity to explore local shops before the concert, making it a delightful day out. With the support of a few singers from nearby choirs, the stage was set for a fantastic musical showcase. The choir delivered a wonderful selection of songs that resonated with everyone present. From the nostalgic energy of "Video Killed the Radio Star" to the heartfelt harmonies of "Shallow," they captivated the audience. Other highlights included "Call Me" by Blondie and the uplifting "Unwritten" by Natasha Bedingfield. With such a diverse repertoire, there was something for everyone to enjoy, and the audience couldn’t help but sway and sing along. Beyond the music, this performance also served a noble cause, supporting the work of Guildford Cathedral, which plays a vital role in the local community. A big thank you goes out to the prefects who helped make the day run smoothly. **STOP PRESS** Rock Choir, the largest contemporary choir in the world is set to release their brand-new single ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ on Friday 21st March. The single features the Founder of Rock Choir, Caroline Redman Lusher along with the voices of over 6000 Rock Choir Members.
The single will be performed for the first time on national TV on the day of release and broadcast to the entire nation on BBC1 as part of the Comic Relief ‘Red Nose Day’ show. This will be the biggest choir performance the show has ever hosted and will be an emotional and poignant moment with a few surprises thrown in!
The track, which was originally performed by Keane was recorded over several months when it was performed by Rock Choir Members in the audience of a recent sold-out theatre tour which toured across the UK in 2024 led by Caroline and The Rock Choir Vocal Group. The audience became part of the show and enjoyed a fully interactive singing concert experience.
