What a joyous occasion it was at the Hamilton Easter Gala! Any day filled with singing is a great day, and this one certainly lived up to that expectation. Choir members from the Hamilton, Greenock, and Paisley choirs took to the stage under the enthusiastic leadership of Jen Bonnar. It was especially heartwarming to see some new members perform live for the very first time. Jen beamed with pride, declaring, "I am so proud of everyone who performed; they sang so clearly and were fantastic with the dance moves too!" The performance was held indoors, and the energy in the room was electric. Friends and family filled the seats, their cheers and applause creating a warm atmosphere that made everyone feel connected. A few members from nearby choirs joined in to support the event, adding to the community spirit that makes these gatherings so special. The choir treated us to a wonderful lineup of songs, including uplifting favorites like "I Wanna Dance with Somebody," "Sweet Child of Mine," and "A Thousand Years." They even belted out classic hits like "Shake a Tailfeather" from the Blues Brothers and "Best Of My Love" by The Emotions, leaving the audience clapping and swaying in delight. This concert was not just about music; it also supported a fantastic cause. Proceeds went to a local charity dedicated to enriching the lives of community members through various programs. If you're interested in learning more about their impactful work, you can visit their British Red Cross official site. A heartfelt thank you to the prefects who were there to lend a helping hand. The day was a beautiful celebration of music, community, and togetherness that we will cherish for a long time to come!Performance location: Quarry Street, Hamilton

Here is a quote about the Rock Choir – ‘Rock Choir has given me a new dimension in life – I joined after my dad died as I knew I needed something new to focus on. I come down to choir on the train from home and in the winter waiting around at a freezing station is not very appealing when its lovely and warm at home, but I never want to miss a session no matter how tired, cold or grumpy I feel. When my husband picks me up he always says the same thing – I am always bubbly and happy and looking forward to the next week.’ – Liz (Rock Choir Member)
