Harmony Festival

When: 12 June 2025 at 8:15 pm

What a fantastic day it was for our community as members from the Dorchester and Bridport choirs came together for an unforgettable performance, led by the ever-enthusiastic Sadie Kerslake. The energy was electric, especially with some singers taking the stage for the very first time! It was heartwarming to see friends and family come out in support, filling the venue with applause and smiles. Despite the partly cloudy skies, we were fortunate enough to enjoy a little sunshine as we performed indoors, creating a cozy atmosphere perfect for a choral celebration. The collaboration with a few members from nearby choirs added an extra layer of joy to the event, where we sang our hearts out for a worthy cause. Our repertoire was a delightful mix of beloved hits, including the uplifting "Mountain" by Sam Ryder and the timeless classic "I Wanna Dance with Somebody." We also transported the audience with tunes like "Somewhere Only We Know" and "Best of My Love." Each song resonated with the crowd, igniting claps and cheers that echoed through the venue. Beyond the enchanting music, this concert was organized in aid of Weldmar Hospice, an incredible local charity dedicated to providing compassionate end-of-life care and support to families in our community. To learn more about their vital work, visit the Weldmar Hospice official site. A huge thank you to all the prefects who lent a hand on the day, ensuring everything ran smoothly. It was truly a celebration of community spirit, and we can’t wait for our next opportunity to sing together!
