This musical performance for Harmony Festival involved choir members from across the area for the Dorchester and Bridport choirs. They were led by their choir leader Sadie Kerslake. Sadie is so thrilled with the performance went and how we were getting right to the heart of the local community. The event was FREE to attend.
We can’t remember what the weather was doing on the day but everyone was thrilled to be there to sing together. A number of Rock Choir members arrived very early due to the thrill of performing and probably to apply yet more glitter! In addition there were a few members from other nearby choirs there to help and sing on the day. It was very good to see the support of family and friends of the choir members, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The choir performed songs from their recent repertoire such as ‘Two Hearts’ by Phil Collins together with ‘Learn to Fly’ by Foo Fighters. The event raised money and awareness for Weldmar Hospice. Many thanks go to the prefects who were there on the day helping.

About the choir
The Dorchester and Bridport choirs are a huge part of their community. The local Rock Choir groups are led by local vocal coach Sadie Kerslake.
Like what you see? You too can join the choir in Dorchester and Bridport or our other choirs across the whole of the UK to make new friends, have adventures and get involved in singing locally. Rock Choir is a winner of the Red Ribbon ‘Big Heart’ Award. and holds 1 former and 2 current Guinness World Records. The choir is also credited with single handedly starting the contemporary choir movement.
Here is a quote about our choir – ‘I joined Rock Choir after being made redundant and being out of work for a year, so was feeling fairly low. Immediately I was greeted like an old friend and made to feel welcome. Since then I have gone on to meet new friends, have a great time every week and culminating to doing a solo at a local festival. If you’d have said to me a year ago I’d have the confidence to not only sing in front of people, but do a solo, I’d have told you not to be so silly. Rock Choir has become a v important part of my life, for the better.’ – Alex (Rock Choir member)
