On a delightful day not too long ago, the Leicester and Broughton Astley choirs, led by the ever-enthusiastic Sarah Stephens, gathered for a heartwarming concert that filled the air with joy and community spirit. The event was absolutely free to attend, and it was wonderful to see so many friends and family members come together, clapping and cheering as the choirs took the stage. Although we can't quite recall the weather, the atmosphere was electric as choir members arrived early, buzzing with excitement and maybe even a little extra glitter for their performances! It was a treat to have a few singers from nearby choirs join us, adding to the rich tapestry of voices that filled the venue. The concert showcased a delightful mix of well-loved songs that had everyone swaying and singing along. Highlights included the festive classic "I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday" by Roy Wood, the heartfelt "For Once In My Life" by Stevie Wonder, and timeless tunes like "Let It Snow" and "Shallow." Each performance brought smiles, laughter, and even a few tears of joy, reminding us all of the power of music to unite. Beyond the music, this wonderful event supported Rainbows Children's Hospice, an organization dedicated to providing care and support for children with life-limiting conditions. Their work is invaluable to the local community, and we were proud to sing in aid of such a noble cause. Huge thanks to everyone who made this event possible, from our talented choir members to the supportive audience that filled the room with warmth and encouragement. It was an unforgettable celebration of music, friendship, and community spirit!Performance location: John Lewis, Highcross Shopping Cenre, Leicester
