With singers from Croydon, Purley, Sutton, Oxted, Caterham, Waterloo, Ealing, Woodford/Wanstead, Hampstead, Chiswick, Gerard’s Cross, Beaconsfield, and High Wycombe, the event was orchestrated by the enthusiastic choir leader, Valerie Turnbull. Many members took to the stage for the first time, and their energy was palpable. Valerie beamed with pride, saying, "I am so proud of everyone who performed; they sang so clearly and danced brilliantly!" The weather may have been a mystery, but the thrill of performing together was undeniable. Some choir members arrived early, turning the day into a joyful outing filled with local retail therapy before the musical festivities began. Friends and family filled the audience, their applause and cheers creating a warm and supportive atmosphere as the choir members found their harmony. The setlist featured an array of beloved songs, showcasing their diverse repertoire. Highlights included the uplifting "Green Green Grass" by George Ezra, the timeless "Best Of My Love" by The Emotions, and the heartwarming "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran, among others. Each song resonated with the audience, inviting smiles, claps, and even a few spontaneous dances from the crowd. As part of the event, the choir was proud to support a local charity dedicated to [Charity Name], which focuses on [brief description of charity work]. It was heartening to see the community come together not just for music, but also to uplift a cause that matters to so many. Singing can help you to releases’ happy hormones’ which make you feel happy and you leave in a better state of mind. It has helped me through a difficult time. It is fun.
