What a fantastic day it was for our local choirs! The recent KSS Air Ambulance Lunchtime Staff Performance brought together talented singers from the Rochester, Sittingbourne, Rainham/Gillingham, West Malling, Gravesend AM, and Gravesend PM choirs, all under the guiding hand of our proud choir leader, Paul Gostling. The best part? It was a free event, filled with joy and community spirit. As the sun shone brightly, we took to the stage in a lovely indoor venue, creating a warm atmosphere that resonated with the heartfelt music we were about to share. Many choir members arrived early, buzzing with excitement, making the most of the day as friends and family gathered to support us. The energy was palpable as we settled into our harmony parts, ready to deliver an unforgettable performance. The repertoire for the afternoon was truly spectacular, featuring crowd-pleasers like 'Mountain' by Sam Ryder, a soaring anthem that lifted everyone’s spirits, and 'Learn to Fly' by Foo Fighters, which had the audience clapping along. We even threw in a classic, ‘Flashdance... What A Feeling!’ that got everyone smiling and reminiscing about those iconic dance moves. Beyond the enchanting music, this performance had a noble purpose. It was organized in aid of AAKSS - Air Ambulance Kent Sussex Surrey, a charity dedicated to providing emergency medical services to those in need across our local area. Their work is vital, and it was heartening to contribute to such a meaningful cause. As the final notes echoed through the venue, the applause and cheers from our audience filled the air, a beautiful reminder of the power of community through music. We left with smiles on our faces, hearts full of joy, and a sense of pride in what we accomplished together. **STOP PRESS** Rock Choir, the largest contemporary choir in the world is set to release their brand-new single ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ on Friday 21st March. The single features the Founder of Rock Choir, Caroline Redman Lusher along with the voices of over 6000 Rock Choir Members.
The single will be performed for the first time on national TV on the day of release and broadcast to the entire nation on BBC1 as part of the Comic Relief ‘Red Nose Day’ show. This will be the biggest choir performance the show has ever hosted and will be an emotional and poignant moment with a few surprises thrown in!
The track, which was originally performed by Keane was recorded over several months when it was performed by Rock Choir Members in the audience of a recent sold-out theatre tour which toured across the UK in 2024 led by Caroline and The Rock Choir Vocal Group. The audience became part of the show and enjoyed a fully interactive singing concert experience.
