As the old Swedish proverb goes, "Those who wish to sing always find a song," and what a delightful experience it was to perform for our local community at the Leeds Christmas Market on November 29th! The atmosphere was electric as choir members from the Horsforth, Roundhay, Ilkley, Wakefield, and Keighley choirs gathered under the guidance of our enthusiastic choir leader, Ainjiel Clark. Ainjiel beamed with pride at how we were able to connect with the heart of the community through our music. Despite the weather being a bit unpredictable, everyone was thrilled to be there, sharing the joy of song together. The performance took place indoors, allowing us to create a warm and inviting ambiance that echoed with laughter and applause. Some choir members arrived early, turning the day into a lovely outing filled with local shopping and friendly chatter. Friends and family filled the audience, their smiles and support creating a heartwarming backdrop for our concert. The excitement was palpable as we took our places, ready to share our love for music. Our repertoire featured some timeless classics, including “Sweet Child o' Mine” by Guns N' Roses and “For Once In My Life” by Stevie Wonder, each note resonating with the joy of the season. The concert was a fantastic opportunity to bring people together, and it was made even more special by supporting a wonderful cause. We were proud to raise awareness for a local charity dedicated to enriching lives in our community. **STOP PRESS** Rock Choir, the largest contemporary choir in the world is set to release their brand-new single ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ on Friday 21st March. The single features the Founder of Rock Choir, Caroline Redman Lusher along with the voices of over 6000 Rock Choir Members.
The single will be performed for the first time on national TV on the day of release and broadcast to the entire nation on BBC1 as part of the Comic Relief ‘Red Nose Day’ show. This will be the biggest choir performance the show has ever hosted and will be an emotional and poignant moment with a few surprises thrown in!
The track, which was originally performed by Keane was recorded over several months when it was performed by Rock Choir Members in the audience of a recent sold-out theatre tour which toured across the UK in 2024 led by Caroline and The Rock Choir Vocal Group. The audience became part of the show and enjoyed a fully interactive singing concert experience.
