On a delightful Tuesday evening, the Lichfield Cathedral came alive with the harmonious sounds of the Stone & Stafford PM choirs, led by the ever-encouraging Beverley Mason. The excitement was palpable as choir members, some performing on stage for the very first time, prepared to share their love of music with the community. It was a free concert, welcoming all who wanted to join in the celebration of song and spirit. With clear skies overhead, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, thanks to the support of family and friends who gathered to cheer on their loved ones. Some dedicated members even arrived early, buzzing with anticipation, while others from nearby choirs came to lend their voices and encouragement. The joy on stage was infectious, with audience members clapping along and children dancing to the rhythm. The choir dazzled everyone with a selection of beloved hits, including the uplifting “Best of My Love” and the heartfelt “Somewhere Only We Know.” They also performed crowd-pleasers like “I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing” by Aerosmith and “Flashdance... What A Feeling” by Irene Cara, showcasing their diverse repertoire. Each song resonated with the audience, drawing smiles and cheers throughout the performance. Beyond the music, this concert held a special significance as it aimed to raise awareness and funds for a local charity, supporting those in need within the community. The work they do is invaluable, helping to uplift and enrich lives in our area. A huge thanks to everyone who helped make this event a success, from the dedicated choir members to the enthusiastic audience. It was a night filled with smiles, laughter, and the unifying power of song—a true testament to the heart of community choirs like ours.Performance location: Lichfield Cathedral, Lichfield, Staffordshire WS13 7LD

Here is a quote about the Rock Choir – ‘I spend many hours every day driving and in meetings. It’s often quite a struggle to get to Rock Choir and I often don’t really feel like making the effort. Something magic happens when I get there – a combination of the unfailing cheerfulness of our Rock Choir tutor, the physical movement, breathing and singing, the (usually!) lovely sound of the combined voices of the choir – suddenly the stress of the day melts away, energy returns and a feeling of well-being arrives. It’s been a difficult year for me – got divorced, my best friend with terminal illness passed away and I survived a tricky restructure at work, Rock Choir has often been the one really positive highlight in my week – thank you!’ – Sue (Rock Choir Member)
