Any day where we get to sing is a great day! This concert for Lore in collaboration with Rock Choir saw choir members appear live from the Lisburn Morning, Lisburn Late & South Belfast Late choirs led by their choir leader Clare Galway. A particular well done goes to the choir members who were performing for their first time. Clare wants to say how proud of everyone they are. The event was FREE.
We were performing inside. We can’t remember what the weather was doing on the day but everyone was thrilled to be there to sing together. A number of Rock Choir members arrived very early due to the thrill of performing and probably to apply yet more glitter! In addition this concert featured members from a lot of local choirs and it took some time for the members to get into position in their harmony parts! It was phenomenal to see a great number of friends and family were in attendance. The choir performed songs from their recent repertoire such as ‘Green Green Grass’ by George Ezra and ‘Shake a Tailfeather’ from the Blues Brothers movie. Beyond the enchanting music, this musical performance had another purpose. It was organized in aid of None. Huge thanks to everyone who helped.

Here’s a quote about the choir – ‘I joined Rock Choir after being made redundant and being out of work for a year, so was feeling fairly low. Immediately I was greeted like an old friend and made to feel welcome. Since then I have gone on to meet new friends, have a great time every week and culminating to doing a solo at a local festival. If you’d have said to me a year ago I’d have the confidence to not only sing in front of people, but do a solo, I’d have told you not to be so silly. Rock Choir has become a v important part of my life, for the better.’ – Alex (Rock Choir member)
