What a wonderful day it was to be part of the Lyme Regis Carnival! Our Rock Choir members from Sadie's Choirs and Carey's Choirs took the stage, led by the ever-enthusiastic Sadie Kerslake. It was a joy to see several members performing onstage for the very first time, their excitement palpable as they shared their love for singing with the community. The weather was simply perfect for our outdoor performance, with bright sunshine bathing the scene as family and friends gathered to support us. Some choir members even made a day of it, enjoying a little local retail therapy before the show. It was heartwarming to see familiar faces from nearby choirs joining us, adding to the vibrant atmosphere. Our repertoire was a delightful mix, featuring crowd-pleasers like “Roll With It” by Oasis and the uplifting “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield. We also included classics such as “Shallow” and “Somewhere Only We Know,” bringing smiles and clapping from the audience. There’s nothing quite like the sound of a community coming together through music! In addition to the joy of singing, we were proud to support a local charity dedicated to [Charity Work Description]. **STOP PRESS** Rock Choir, the largest contemporary choir in the world is set to release their brand-new single ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ on Friday 21st March. The single features the Founder of Rock Choir, Caroline Redman Lusher along with the voices of over 6000 Rock Choir Members.
The single will be performed for the first time on national TV on the day of release and broadcast to the entire nation on BBC1 as part of the Comic Relief ‘Red Nose Day’ show. This will be the biggest choir performance the show has ever hosted and will be an emotional and poignant moment with a few surprises thrown in!
The track, which was originally performed by Keane was recorded over several months when it was performed by Rock Choir Members in the audience of a recent sold-out theatre tour which toured across the UK in 2024 led by Caroline and The Rock Choir Vocal Group. The audience became part of the show and enjoyed a fully interactive singing concert experience.
