Any day where we get to sing is a great day and this was no exception! This performance for Marie Curie Day of Reflection involved choir members from across the area for the Ballyhackamore Late & Holywood Late. choirs. Leading them, was their amazing choir leader Sophie Giraudeau. For some newer members, this was their first time performing live with the choir! Sophie said ‘I am so proud of everyone who performed, just brilliant they were, sang so clearly and great at the dance moves too!’ The event was FREE to attend.
We were performing inside. We can’t remember what the weather was doing on the day but everyone was thrilled to be there to sing together. A number of Rock Choir members arrived very early due to the thrill of performing and probably to apply yet more glitter! In addition there were a few members from other nearby choirs there to help and sing on the day. Friends and relatives of the choir members filled the audience, creating an atmosphere of warmth and support. The choir performed songs from their recent repertoire such as ‘Shake a Tailfeather’ from the Blues Brothers movie along with ‘Best Of My Love’ by The Emotions. The musical performance raised money and awareness for Marie Curie.
Performance location: The grounds of Belfast City Hall
