What a fantastic day it was at the Market Drayton Ginger & Spice Festival! Members from our Market Drayton, Stone, Stafford AM, Stafford PM, Leek, and Newcastle Under Lyme choirs, led by the ever-enthusiastic Beverley Mason, took to the stage for a lively performance that truly embodied the spirit of community. Many choir members were stepping into the spotlight for the first time, and Beverley couldn’t have been prouder of their courage and enthusiasm. Though we can’t recall the weather details, the excitement in the air was palpable, and everyone was thrilled to come together to sing. Some of our members arrived hours early, soaking up the festival atmosphere, while friends and family filled the audience with warmth and support. It was a joy to see so many familiar faces cheering us on! We performed a delightful mix of well-loved songs, including the upbeat “Club Tropicana” by Wham! and the heartfelt “Somewhere Only We Know” by Keane. The crowd clapped along to classics like “Don't Stop Me Now” and “Sweet Child of Mine,” creating an electric atmosphere that made our hearts sing just as loudly as our voices. This event wasn't just about music; it also raised awareness for the fantastic work of the local charity that supports our community. Huge thanks to everyone who made this event a success and to all of you who joined us for a magical day of song and connection. **STOP PRESS** Rock Choir, the largest contemporary choir in the world is set to release their brand-new single ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ on Friday 21st March. The single features the Founder of Rock Choir, Caroline Redman Lusher along with the voices of over 6000 Rock Choir Members.
The single will be performed for the first time on national TV on the day of release and broadcast to the entire nation on BBC1 as part of the Comic Relief ‘Red Nose Day’ show. This will be the biggest choir performance the show has ever hosted and will be an emotional and poignant moment with a few surprises thrown in!
The track, which was originally performed by Keane was recorded over several months when it was performed by Rock Choir Members in the audience of a recent sold-out theatre tour which toured across the UK in 2024 led by Caroline and The Rock Choir Vocal Group. The audience became part of the show and enjoyed a fully interactive singing concert experience.
