Market Drayton Library 50th Anniversary

When: 30 March 2024 at 1:00 am

In the spirit of the old Swedish proverb, "Those who wish to sing always find a song," our recent concert was a heartwarming celebration of community and music. Led by the talented Beverley Mason, singers from the Market Drayton, Stafford AM, Stone, Leek, and Newcastle U Lyme choirs came together for an unforgettable performance that truly resonated with the audience. Despite the uncertainty of the weather, the excitement in the air was palpable. Choir members arrived early, perhaps a little extra sparkle in their eyes and on their outfits, eager to share their passion for singing. The venue was alive with the sound of laughter and chatter, as friends and family gathered to support our local talents. The atmosphere was electric, with audience members clapping and children dancing, creating a vibrant tapestry of joy and community spirit. The concert featured a delightful mix of well-loved songs, including George Ezra's uplifting "Green Green Grass" and the infectious energy of "Shake a Tail Feather" from the iconic Blues Brothers movie. Other highlights included heartfelt ballads like "Perfect" and the timeless classic "Hallelujah," as well as upbeat favorites like "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go." Each note sung felt like a celebration, with singers harmonizing beautifully and bringing smiles to the faces of everyone present. In addition to the music, the event also supported the important work of CCPA, a charity dedicated to enhancing the lives of children with disabilities and their families in our community. Their efforts truly make a difference, and we were proud to contribute to such a noble cause. As the concert came to a close, the sense of camaraderie and shared passion for music lingered in the air. Huge thanks to everyone who helped make this event a success. We can’t wait for the next opportunity to come together and sing our hearts out again!
