The recent concert brought together the vibrant voices of the Waterloo, Hampstead, and Ealing choirs, all under the inspiring direction of the talented Valerie Turnbull. With some members taking the stage for their very first performance, the atmosphere was electric. It was a heartwarming afternoon filled with incredible music that truly resonated within our local community, and best of all, it was free for everyone to enjoy! Though we can't recall the specifics of the weather that day, everyone was thrilled to join together in song. Many choir members made a delightful day of it, arriving early to indulge in a little local retail therapy before the concert. The audience was a beautiful tapestry of friends and family, who filled the space with warmth and support as they clapped and cheered for our singers. The choir dazzled us with a selection of well-loved songs from their repertoire. Highlights included the powerful ballad "I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing" by Aerosmith and the infectious "Flashdance... What A Feeling" by Irene Cara. The festive spirit was palpable as they also performed classics like "I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday" and "White Winter Wonderland," perfectly capturing the joy of the season. This event also supported a wonderful local charity, the British Red Cross, which plays a vital role in our community through their humanitarian work. **STOP PRESS** Rock Choir, the largest contemporary choir in the world is set to release their brand-new single ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ on Friday 21st March. The single features the Founder of Rock Choir, Caroline Redman Lusher along with the voices of over 6000 Rock Choir Members.
The single will be performed for the first time on national TV on the day of release and broadcast to the entire nation on BBC1 as part of the Comic Relief ‘Red Nose Day’ show. This will be the biggest choir performance the show has ever hosted and will be an emotional and poignant moment with a few surprises thrown in!
The track, which was originally performed by Keane was recorded over several months when it was performed by Rock Choir Members in the audience of a recent sold-out theatre tour which toured across the UK in 2024 led by Caroline and The Rock Choir Vocal Group. The audience became part of the show and enjoyed a fully interactive singing concert experience.
