The recent Mursley Village Fete was a heartwarming celebration of music and community, featuring fantastic performances from the Milton Keynes, Bedford am, Bedford pm, Hitchin, and Leighton Buzzard choirs, all led by the talented Rob Baker. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement, especially for the new choir members who took the stage for the very first time—what an achievement! Rob beamed with pride, noting how professionally everyone performed, truly deserving of their moment in the spotlight. Despite the looming threat of rain, we were grateful to gather indoors, where the warmth of the audience's clapping and laughter filled the air. Friends and family gathered in droves, creating a supportive and joyful environment as choir members took their places, harmonizing beautifully. The setlist was a delightful mix of well-known hits that had everyone singing along. We grooved to 'Call Me' by Blondie, felt the energy of 'Flashdance,' and shared the uplifting vibes of 'This Is Me.' Other cherished favorites like 'Sweet Child O' Mine,' 'Somewhere Only We Know,' and 'The Best of My Love' brought smiles and even a few happy tears to the crowd. This event wasn’t just about the music; it also supported a wonderful cause. Proceeds went to the local charity British Red Cross official site, which does incredible work in our community, providing vital support to those in need. Huge thanks to everyone who made this performance possible! **STOP PRESS** Rock Choir, the largest contemporary choir in the world is set to release their brand-new single ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ on Friday 21st March. The single features the Founder of Rock Choir, Caroline Redman Lusher along with the voices of over 6000 Rock Choir Members.
The single will be performed for the first time on national TV on the day of release and broadcast to the entire nation on BBC1 as part of the Comic Relief ‘Red Nose Day’ show. This will be the biggest choir performance the show has ever hosted and will be an emotional and poignant moment with a few surprises thrown in!
The track, which was originally performed by Keane was recorded over several months when it was performed by Rock Choir Members in the audience of a recent sold-out theatre tour which toured across the UK in 2024 led by Caroline and The Rock Choir Vocal Group. The audience became part of the show and enjoyed a fully interactive singing concert experience.
