Nottingham Beach

When: 31 August 2026 at 12:00 pm

Under the spirit of the old Swedish proverb, "Those who wish to sing always find a song," our community choir recently had the joy of performing at the vibrant Nottingham Beach. With members from Nottingham City, Southwell, Melton Mowbray, West Bridgford, Grantham, and Newark choirs, the evening was nothing short of magical. Led by the inspiring Robyn Licata, the excitement was palpable, especially for those stepping onto the stage for the very first time! Robyn beamed with pride, stating, "I am so proud of everyone who performed; they were just brilliant, singing so clearly and nailing those dance moves too!" As the skies threatened rain, we were grateful to be indoors, creating a cozy atmosphere for our concert. Friends and family filled the audience, their warm applause and cheers adding to the community spirit that made the event special. Many choir members arrived early, buzzing with anticipation as they got into position for their harmony parts, ready to share their love for music. The concert featured an array of well-loved songs, bringing together genres from pop to classic anthems. We delighted the audience with hits like "Unwritten," a hopeful anthem about new beginnings, and "I'll Be There For You," the iconic theme from *Friends* that had everyone singing along. With other favorites such as "Green Green Grass" and "A Little Respect," the joy of music filled the room, inviting smiles and even a few spontaneous dances from the audience. We were also proud to support the Figs charity, which focuses on enhancing the lives of those in our local community through various initiatives. Their work is vital, and it was a pleasure to contribute to such a worthy cause during our performance. For more about their mission, check out the Figs official site.…
