What a delightful day it was for the Durham choir! Under the warm sun, we gathered for a heartwarming performance in support of Global Care, led by our enthusiastic choir leader, Rob Slater. The atmosphere was electric, filled with the joyful clapping of the audience and the smiles of family and friends who came to cheer us on. It was a FREE event, welcoming both our devoted choir members and the local community, creating a vibrant and inviting environment. Many of us arrived early, brimming with excitement and perhaps a bit of extra glitter! With a mix of voices from nearby choirs joining us, the sound of our harmonies echoed beautifully. We sang some beloved hits, including the heartfelt "Two Hearts" by Phil Collins and the uplifting "Learn to Fly" by Foo Fighters. The energy was infectious as the crowd swayed and sang along, making the experience unforgettable. Beyond the music, this performance had a noble cause, raising awareness and funds for Global Care, an organization dedicated to supporting vulnerable communities around the world. Their work resonates deeply with many of us, and it was a privilege to contribute to such a meaningful cause. A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success! We left the stage with our hearts full, ready to take on the next opportunity to share our love of singing. Until next time, keep those voices warm and ready for the next community choir adventure!Performance location: Elvet Methodist Church, 8 Old Elvet, Durham DH1 3HL
