Any day where we get to sing is a great day! Choir members appeared from the Hastings & Tenterden and Rye choirs led by their choir leader Esther Jones. Esther is so thrilled with the performance went and how we were getting right to the heart of the local community. The event was FREE to attend.
We were performing inside. We can’t remember what the weather was doing on the day but everyone was thrilled to be there to sing together. Some choir members made a day of it arriving hours before the performance and there were a few members from other nearby choirs there to help and sing on the day. It was tremendous to see the support of relatives and friends of the choir members, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The choir performed songs from their recent repertoire such as ‘Green Green Grass’ by George Ezra and the wonderful ‘Best Of My Love’ by The Emotions. The show raised money and awareness for N/a. Many thanks go to the prefects who were there on the day helping.
Performance location: Tenterden Railway Station

About the choir
The Hastings & Tenterden and Rye choirs are a huge part of their community. Vocal tutor Esther Jones leads your friendly, local Hastings & Tenterden and Rye choirs.
Like what you see? You too can join the choir in Hastings & Tenterden and Rye or our other choirs across the whole of the UK to make new friends, have adventures and get involved in singing locally. Rock Choir is a winner of the Red Ribbon ‘Big Heart’ Award. and holds 1 former and 2 current Guinness World Records. The choir is also credited with single handedly starting the contemporary choir movement.
Here’s a quote about the choir – ‘I spend many hours every day driving and in meetings. It’s often quite a struggle to get to Rock Choir and I often don’t really feel like making the effort. Something magic happens when I get there – a combination of the unfailing cheerfulness of our Rock Choir tutor, the physical movement, breathing and singing, the (usually!) lovely sound of the combined voices of the choir – suddenly the stress of the day melts away, energy returns and a feeling of well-being arrives. It’s been a difficult year for me – got divorced, my best friend with terminal illness passed away and I survived a tricky restructure at work, Rock Choir has often been the one really positive highlight in my week – thank you!’ – Sue (Rock Choir Member)
