What a fantastic day it was for our community choirs! We gathered at RecoverFest, with our talented members from the Leek, Stone, Stafford AM, Stafford PM, Newcastle-Under-Lyme, and Market Drayton choirs, all under the uplifting guidance of our choir leader, Beverley Mason. It was heartwarming to see so many smiling faces in the audience, filled with friends and family who came to support us. The atmosphere was electric, with laughter and clapping echoing through the venue, creating a true sense of community spirit. Despite the uncertainty of the weather, everyone was in high spirits, and we managed to perform beautifully indoors. After a bit of shuffling and harmonizing, our choir members found their places, ready to deliver a memorable performance. We took the audience on a musical journey with a selection of well-known songs that included 'Call Me' by Blondie and 'Roll With It' by Oasis. The excitement built as we sang classics like 'Sweet Child of Mine,' 'For Once in My Life,' and even the empowering anthem 'This is Me.' Each note resonated with joy and energy, leaving the crowd cheering for more! This concert was not just about the music; it was also in aid of local charity efforts, highlighting the importance of community support. We are grateful for the prefects who helped make the day run smoothly, ensuring that everyone felt welcomed and included. It was a day to remember, filled with the joy of singing and the warmth of togetherness. **STOP PRESS** Rock Choir, the largest contemporary choir in the world is set to release their brand-new single ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ on Friday 21st March. The single features the Founder of Rock Choir, Caroline Redman Lusher along with the voices of over 6000 Rock Choir Members.
The single will be performed for the first time on national TV on the day of release and broadcast to the entire nation on BBC1 as part of the Comic Relief ‘Red Nose Day’ show. This will be the biggest choir performance the show has ever hosted and will be an emotional and poignant moment with a few surprises thrown in!
The track, which was originally performed by Keane was recorded over several months when it was performed by Rock Choir Members in the audience of a recent sold-out theatre tour which toured across the UK in 2024 led by Caroline and The Rock Choir Vocal Group. The audience became part of the show and enjoyed a fully interactive singing concert experience.
