What a fantastic day it was at the Dora Rose Care Home, where choir members from the Aldridge, Birmingham & Lichfield, and Sutton Coldfield choirs gathered to share their love of music! Led by the wonderful Sonia Eyre, the energy was palpable as we prepared to perform. Sonia remarked that the audience was just as enthusiastic, filled with family and friends who created a warm, supportive atmosphere. Despite the partly cloudy skies, we were fortunate to have a little sunshine peeking through, lifting our spirits even higher. The thrill of performing had many members arriving early, eager to add a touch of sparkle to the occasion. It took a little time for everyone to find their harmony spots, but once we did, it was pure magic! We filled the air with well-loved tunes, including the upbeat classic "September," a nod to the joyous vibe of fall. The concert not only showcased our passion for singing but also highlighted our commitment to community spirit. It was a treat for both the performers and the audience, with clapping, laughter, and even a few little dancers enjoying the music. This event was also a chance to support the amazing work of the local charity, which focuses on providing care and companionship to those in need. **STOP PRESS** Rock Choir, the largest contemporary choir in the world is set to release their brand-new single ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ on Friday 21st March. The single features the Founder of Rock Choir, Caroline Redman Lusher along with the voices of over 6000 Rock Choir Members.
The single will be performed for the first time on national TV on the day of release and broadcast to the entire nation on BBC1 as part of the Comic Relief ‘Red Nose Day’ show. This will be the biggest choir performance the show has ever hosted and will be an emotional and poignant moment with a few surprises thrown in!
The track, which was originally performed by Keane was recorded over several months when it was performed by Rock Choir Members in the audience of a recent sold-out theatre tour which toured across the UK in 2024 led by Caroline and The Rock Choir Vocal Group. The audience became part of the show and enjoyed a fully interactive singing concert experience.
