What a joy it was to gather for the recent Rock Choir concert, an event that truly celebrated the spirit of community and music! Led by the enthusiastic Michael Fricker, members from the Eltham, Bexleyheath, and Blackheath choirs came together for a heartwarming performance that was free for all to enjoy. The clear weather was a fantastic bonus, allowing us to sing freely and share our passion for music with friends and family alike. We were thrilled to see so many familiar faces in the audience, their smiles and claps adding to the vibrant atmosphere. A few members from nearby choirs joined us, enhancing the chorus and creating a rich tapestry of sound that resonated throughout the venue. The evening featured a delightful mix of well-known songs, including the heartfelt 'Two Hearts' by Phil Collins and the upbeat 'Learn to Fly' by the Foo Fighters. Each note filled the air with energy and joy, drawing cheers and applause from our supportive audience. This event was not just about music; it was also a chance to raise awareness and funds for Marie Curie, a charity dedicated to providing care and support for people with terminal illnesses and their families. Their vital work ensures that those in need receive compassionate care, making a profound impact on our local community. For more information, check out their work at Marie Curie official site. Reflecting on the concert, it’s clear that any day filled with singing is a good one, and this gathering was no exception. We left with full hearts, looking forward to our next chance to share the joy of music with our community!Performance location: St Luke’s Church Eltham Park, Westmount Road, London, SE9 1XQ
