The recent Rotary Autumn Choir Concert was a heartwarming celebration of music, bringing together talented members from the Banbury, Bicester, Aylesbury, and Towcester choirs. Under the skilled direction of the amazing Liga Milune, the choir truly shone, showcasing their hard work and passion. Liga praised the performers, saying, "The choir members did so well, everyone was truly professional in their performance and deserved to be up there." Despite a partly cloudy sky, the ambiance inside was filled with joy and excitement as friends and family gathered to support their loved ones. Many choir members arrived early, turning the day into a delightful gathering filled with camaraderie. It was wonderful to see a few familiar faces from nearby choirs joining in to lend their voices, creating a vibrant tapestry of sound. The concert featured an impressive lineup of well-known songs, from pop classics to uplifting anthems. The choir performed crowd favorites like "Lean on Me," a soulful reminder of friendship, and "Don't Stop Believin'," a timeless rock classic that had the audience clapping along in delight. Each note resonated with the warmth of community spirit, making it a truly memorable event. Beyond the enchanting music, this concert had another purpose. It was organized in aid of Katharine House Hospice, a local charity that provides compassionate care and support to those facing life-limiting illnesses. Their work makes a significant difference in the lives of many, and it was heartening to see the community come together to support such a worthy cause. **STOP PRESS** Rock Choir, the largest contemporary choir in the world is set to release their brand-new single ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ on Friday 21st March. The single features the Founder of Rock Choir, Caroline Redman Lusher along with the voices of over 6000 Rock Choir Members.
The single will be performed for the first time on national TV on the day of release and broadcast to the entire nation on BBC1 as part of the Comic Relief ‘Red Nose Day’ show. This will be the biggest choir performance the show has ever hosted and will be an emotional and poignant moment with a few surprises thrown in!
The track, which was originally performed by Keane was recorded over several months when it was performed by Rock Choir Members in the audience of a recent sold-out theatre tour which toured across the UK in 2024 led by Caroline and The Rock Choir Vocal Group. The audience became part of the show and enjoyed a fully interactive singing concert experience.
