What a delightful day it was for our community as choir members from Allesley, Coventry, Rugby, Warwick & Leamington Spa, and Hinckley came together for the Simply Christmas Craft Show! Under the inspiring guidance of our choir leader, Mark O'Malley, we filled the air with beautiful harmonies and festive cheer. A heartfelt shoutout goes to those brave souls performing for the very first time—Mark beamed as he shared, "They loved it and the audience were great too!" It was a joy to see families and friends come out to support, creating a warm atmosphere that made our free concert feel extra special. The sun shone brightly, providing the perfect backdrop for our indoor performance, and our members took a moment to find their places in the harmony before diving into a fantastic selection of songs. The audience clapped along, and there was even a hint of dancing from the little ones in the crowd, making it a truly memorable event. Our repertoire was a delightful mix of classics and festive favorites. We kicked off with the iconic "Sweet Child O’ Mine," followed by the heartwarming "I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day." The crowd swayed to "Somewhere Only We Know" and felt the emotion of "Hallelujah." Other highlights included the joyous "Merry Christmas Everyone" and the uplifting "Keeping the Dream Alive." Each song brought smiles to our faces and filled the venue with a sense of community spirit. We were also thrilled to raise awareness for a wonderful cause in our local area. The work of the British Red Cross helps support those in need, making our event even more meaningful. As the last notes faded, we left the stage with hearts full of joy, grateful for the connections made through music. **STOP PRESS** Rock Choir, the largest contemporary choir in the world is set to release their brand-new single ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ on Friday 21st March. The single features the Founder of Rock Choir, Caroline Redman Lusher along with the voices of over 6000 Rock Choir Members.
The single will be performed for the first time on national TV on the day of release and broadcast to the entire nation on BBC1 as part of the Comic Relief ‘Red Nose Day’ show. This will be the biggest choir performance the show has ever hosted and will be an emotional and poignant moment with a few surprises thrown in!
The track, which was originally performed by Keane was recorded over several months when it was performed by Rock Choir Members in the audience of a recent sold-out theatre tour which toured across the UK in 2024 led by Caroline and The Rock Choir Vocal Group. The audience became part of the show and enjoyed a fully interactive singing concert experience.
