What a fantastic day it was at the St Georges Twilight Market! On that bright occasion, members from the Ballyhackamore Late and Holywood Late choirs came together to share their love of music, and the atmosphere was simply electric. Under the enthusiastic guidance of their choir leader, Sophie Giraudeau, the singers poured their hearts into every note, with Sophie beaming with pride as she exclaimed, "I am so proud of everyone who performed; they were brilliant, singing so clearly and dancing with such joy!" The performance was a delightful treat for everyone, and best of all, it was completely free! Families and friends filled the venue, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that made the experience even more special. It was heartwarming to see the excitement on the faces of the choir members, many of whom arrived early, eager to take the stage and share their passion for singing. As the concert unfolded, the audience was treated to a wonderful selection of songs that truly showcased the talent and diversity of the choir. From the timeless beauty of "Hallelujah" to the festive cheer of "What Christmas Means To Me," each performance resonated with warmth and community spirit. Other memorable highlights included the uplifting "A Thousand Years," the energetic "Flashdance...What A Feeling!" and the nostalgic "Somewhere Only We Know." The blend of classic and contemporary tunes had everyone clapping along and swaying in their seats. We may not recall the exact weather that day, but the joy of singing together filled the air, making it a perfect evening for all involved. **STOP PRESS** Rock Choir, the largest contemporary choir in the world is set to release their brand-new single ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ on Friday 21st March. The single features the Founder of Rock Choir, Caroline Redman Lusher along with the voices of over 6000 Rock Choir Members.
The single will be performed for the first time on national TV on the day of release and broadcast to the entire nation on BBC1 as part of the Comic Relief ‘Red Nose Day’ show. This will be the biggest choir performance the show has ever hosted and will be an emotional and poignant moment with a few surprises thrown in!
The track, which was originally performed by Keane was recorded over several months when it was performed by Rock Choir Members in the audience of a recent sold-out theatre tour which toured across the UK in 2024 led by Caroline and The Rock Choir Vocal Group. The audience became part of the show and enjoyed a fully interactive singing concert experience.
