What a wonderful day it was for the York and Selby choirs as they gathered for a heartwarming performance at the St Leonard's Donation Centre Opening! Led by the talented Kate Peters, our choir members truly shone, showcasing their professionalism and passion for music. With the sun peeking through the partly cloudy skies, it felt just right for an outdoor concert, and the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement and support from family and friends. Before the show, many of us took the opportunity to indulge in a bit of retail therapy, making it a delightful day out. The audience was filled with familiar faces, all ready to cheer us on. The setlist was a vibrant mix of well-loved classics, including the iconic "Sweet Child Of Mine," the upbeat "Club Tropicana," and the empowering anthem "This Is Me." Each song brought a unique energy, making the concert a joyful celebration of music and community. This event wasn't just about the music; it also supported a great cause. We were proud to perform in aid of St Leonard's Hospice, which provides essential care and support to those facing life-limiting illnesses in our local area. You can learn more about their incredible work at the St Leonard's Hospice official site. Huge thanks to everyone who participated and supported us—it truly was a day filled with laughter, clapping, and smiles all around. We can’t wait for the next opportunity to come together and share the joy of singing!Performance location: Unit 1 and 2, Marrtree Business Park, Stirling Road, YO30 4AB

Here is a quote about our choir – ‘I joined Rock Choir after being made redundant and being out of work for a year, so was feeling fairly low. Immediately I was greeted like an old friend and made to feel welcome. Since then I have gone on to meet new friends, have a great time every week and culminating to doing a solo at a local festival. If you’d have said to me a year ago I’d have the confidence to not only sing in front of people, but do a solo, I’d have told you not to be so silly. Rock Choir has become a v important part of my life, for the better.’ – Alex (Rock Choir member)
