On a delightful evening, we gathered at The Fox Inn for a concert that truly celebrated our love for singing and community spirit. With members from the Bilingshurst, Horsham AM, Chichester AM and PM, and Romsey choirs, we were under the enthusiastic guidance of our choir leader, Rachel Button. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as some of our fellow singers took the stage for their very first performance, a moment filled with nerves and joy that only added to the magic of the night. Although we can’t quite recall what the weather was doing, it didn’t dampen our spirits as we performed indoors, creating a cozy and inviting environment where friends and family filled the audience, their applause and cheers wrapping around us like a warm hug. The camaraderie among choir members and supporters was palpable, echoing the Swedish proverb that says, "Those who wish to sing always find a song." We treated the audience to a selection of beloved classics, including the heartfelt "For Once In My Life" by Stevie Wonder and the rock anthem "Sweet Child o' Mine" by Guns N' Roses, which had everyone humming along. Each note resonated with the energy of our community, reminding us of the joy and connection that music brings. This wonderful event was free to attend, allowing everyone to bask in the uplifting experience of live music. **STOP PRESS** Rock Choir, the largest contemporary choir in the world is set to release their brand-new single ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ on Friday 21st March. The single features the Founder of Rock Choir, Caroline Redman Lusher along with the voices of over 6000 Rock Choir Members.
The single will be performed for the first time on national TV on the day of release and broadcast to the entire nation on BBC1 as part of the Comic Relief ‘Red Nose Day’ show. This will be the biggest choir performance the show has ever hosted and will be an emotional and poignant moment with a few surprises thrown in!
The track, which was originally performed by Keane was recorded over several months when it was performed by Rock Choir Members in the audience of a recent sold-out theatre tour which toured across the UK in 2024 led by Caroline and The Rock Choir Vocal Group. The audience became part of the show and enjoyed a fully interactive singing concert experience.
