What a fantastic day it was at The Orchards Mother's Day Celebration, where members of the Haywards Heath and Burgess Hill/Hassocks choirs came together to fill the air with joy and music! Led by the brilliant Emma Steele, the choir truly shone, performing with clarity and enthusiasm that had everyone clapping along. As Emma proudly declared, "I am so proud of everyone who performed; they were just brilliant!" The sun smiled down on us throughout the concert, creating a lovely atmosphere for our outdoor performance. Choir members arrived early, filled with excitement and perhaps a little extra glitter, ready to share their passion for singing. It was heartwarming to see so many friends and family members supporting their loved ones, creating an inviting and warm vibe that made the event feel even more special. The repertoire was a delightful mix of well-known hits, including Phil Collins' touching "Two Hearts" and Sam Ryder's uplifting "Mountain." We also rocked out to classics like "Video Killed The Radio Star," "Shallow," and "Sweet Child O' Mine," each song bringing its unique energy and charm to the celebration. This wonderful event was free to attend, and we were thrilled to support a local charity that plays a crucial role in our community. Their dedication to uplifting those in need is truly inspiring. A huge thank you to the prefects who helped make the day run smoothly, ensuring that everyone was in position and ready to harmonize! With smiles all around and the sound of music filling the air, it was a day to remember for all of us in our vibrant singing family. **STOP PRESS** Rock Choir, the largest contemporary choir in the world is set to release their brand-new single ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ on Friday 21st March. The single features the Founder of Rock Choir, Caroline Redman Lusher along with the voices of over 6000 Rock Choir Members.
The single will be performed for the first time on national TV on the day of release and broadcast to the entire nation on BBC1 as part of the Comic Relief ‘Red Nose Day’ show. This will be the biggest choir performance the show has ever hosted and will be an emotional and poignant moment with a few surprises thrown in!
The track, which was originally performed by Keane was recorded over several months when it was performed by Rock Choir Members in the audience of a recent sold-out theatre tour which toured across the UK in 2024 led by Caroline and The Rock Choir Vocal Group. The audience became part of the show and enjoyed a fully interactive singing concert experience.
