What a fantastic day it was when the Ballymena & Ballymoney and Jordanstown choirs brought their uplifting melodies right to the heart of our community at the Three Islands Nursing Home! Under the enthusiastic guidance of our choir leader, Rachel Coulter, we filled the air with joy and music, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that resonated with both singers and their families alike. Even though we can't quite recall if we were sheltered from a sprinkle of rain or basking in the sunshine, the spirit of camaraderie was undeniable. Many choir members arrived hours early to soak up the excitement, and we were thrilled to see supportive friends and relatives cheering us on. It truly felt like one big family gathering! Our setlist was a delightful mix of well-loved tunes that had everyone humming along. We performed heartfelt classics like "Two Hearts" by Phil Collins and the energetic "Learn to Fly" by Foo Fighters, each song bringing a different vibe to our performance. The audience clapped and swayed, capturing the essence of community spirit as we sang our hearts out. This wonderful event was free, allowing us to share our passion for music with everyone in attendance. We were proud to support a local charity dedicated to enhancing the lives of seniors, ensuring that their work continues to make a difference in our community. **STOP PRESS** Rock Choir, the largest contemporary choir in the world is set to release their brand-new single ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ on Friday 21st March. The single features the Founder of Rock Choir, Caroline Redman Lusher along with the voices of over 6000 Rock Choir Members.
The single will be performed for the first time on national TV on the day of release and broadcast to the entire nation on BBC1 as part of the Comic Relief ‘Red Nose Day’ show. This will be the biggest choir performance the show has ever hosted and will be an emotional and poignant moment with a few surprises thrown in!
The track, which was originally performed by Keane was recorded over several months when it was performed by Rock Choir Members in the audience of a recent sold-out theatre tour which toured across the UK in 2024 led by Caroline and The Rock Choir Vocal Group. The audience became part of the show and enjoyed a fully interactive singing concert experience.
