This musical performance for Tommy’s London Landmarks Half Marathon featured choir members from the Waterloo, Ealing, Hampstead, Woodford/Wanstead, Sutton, Croydon, Purley, Oxted & Caterham choirs. They were led by their choir leader Alice Morgan. For some newer members, this was their first time performing live with the choir! Alice said ‘The choir members did so well, everyone was truly professional in their performance and deserved to be up there.’ The performance was FREE.
We were performing inside. We can’t remember what the weather was doing on the day but everyone was thrilled to be there to sing together. Some choir members made a day of it arriving hours before the performance and this concert featured members from a lot of local choirs and it took some time for the members to get into position in their harmony parts! It was inspiring to see the support of family and friends of the choir members, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The choir performed songs from their recent repertoire such as ‘Green Green Grass’ by George Ezra and ‘Shake a Tailfeather’ from the Blues Brothers movie. This show was raising awareness and funds for Tommy’s. Many thanks go to the prefects who were there on the day helping.
