What a fantastic day it was for the Downham Market & Swaffham, King's Lynn, Peterborough Afternoon, Peterborough Late, and Wisbech choirs! Led by the wonderful Sally Rose, our concert for Tulips for Tapping was a true celebration of community spirit and musical joy. For many of our members, it was their very first live performance, and the excitement was palpable. Sally remarked, "They loved it, and the audience were great too!" The mix of choir members, their families, and supportive friends created a warm and inviting atmosphere that filled the venue with love and laughter. While we can’t quite recall the weather, everyone was thrilled to be part of the experience, performing indoors where the acoustics were just perfect. Some choir members even made a day of it, indulging in a bit of local retail therapy before the show. It was heartwarming to see everyone come together, patiently finding their spots and getting into perfect harmony. Our repertoire was nothing short of spectacular, featuring crowd-pleasers like 'Green Green Grass' by George Ezra and 'Best Of My Love' by The Emotions. We also delighted the audience with classics such as 'Shake a Tailfeather', 'Sweet Child O' Mine', and the emotional 'A Thousand Years'. Each song brought smiles, applause, and even a few dance moves from the audience, creating a truly memorable experience. Beyond the music, this concert had a noble cause, raising funds for Tapping House, which provides vital care and support for individuals in need in our local community. You can learn more about their important work by visiting their official website. As the evening came to a close, the joy of singing together lingered in the air, reminding us that any day we get to share our voices is indeed a great day!Performance location: Tulip Fields TBC (it’s a secret and only given out to ticket holders)

Immediately I was greeted like an old friend and made to feel welcome. Since then I have gone on to meet new friends, have a great time every week and culminating to doing a solo at a local festival. If you’d have said to me a year ago I’d have the confidence to not only sing in front of people, but do a solo, I’d have told you not to be so silly. Rock Choir has become a v important part of my life, for the better.’ – Alex (Rock Choir member)
