The echoes of joy filled the air as choir members from the ABINGDON, DIDCOT, OXFORD, WANTAGE, and WITNEY choirs came together for a heartwarming performance at Valerian Court Care Home, led by the talented Krisha Kaye. This delightful event was a treat for the local community, showcasing the vibrant spirit of amateur singing. We were thrilled to see some of our new members take the stage for the very first time, and they truly shone! Krisha shared, "They loved it, and the audience was great too! It was wonderful to see families and friends supporting our singers, along with members of the public enjoying the music." Despite the uncertainty of the weather, the enthusiasm was palpable as we gathered indoors, creating a cozy atmosphere perfect for singing our hearts out. Many Rock Choir members arrived early, buzzing with excitement and perhaps a touch of extra glitter! The harmony parts may have taken a moment to come together, but the smiles and camaraderie made it all worthwhile. Our repertoire included crowd-pleasers like "Green Green Grass," "Boogie Wonderland," and "I Wanna Dance with Somebody," blending genres and eras to keep everyone tapping their feet. We also couldn’t resist belting out classics such as "Don’t Stop Me Now" and "Hallelujah," which had the audience clapping along and even some children dancing in their seats. This concert was not just about music; it was about community. We are grateful for everyone who attended and supported us, making this event a memorable celebration of singing and togetherness. **STOP PRESS** Rock Choir, the largest contemporary choir in the world is set to release their brand-new single ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ on Friday 21st March. The single features the Founder of Rock Choir, Caroline Redman Lusher along with the voices of over 6000 Rock Choir Members.
The single will be performed for the first time on national TV on the day of release and broadcast to the entire nation on BBC1 as part of the Comic Relief ‘Red Nose Day’ show. This will be the biggest choir performance the show has ever hosted and will be an emotional and poignant moment with a few surprises thrown in!
The track, which was originally performed by Keane was recorded over several months when it was performed by Rock Choir Members in the audience of a recent sold-out theatre tour which toured across the UK in 2024 led by Caroline and The Rock Choir Vocal Group. The audience became part of the show and enjoyed a fully interactive singing concert experience.
