Any day where we get to sing is a great day and this was no exception! This performance for VICTA Charity Concert Crookes Social Club saw choir members appear live from the Rotherham, Worksop & West Sheffield Morning choirs. Leading them, was their talented choir leader Tom Rigby. Tom said ‘I am so proud of everyone who performed, just brilliant they were, sang so clearly and great at the dance moves too!’ The event was FREE.
We were performing inside. We can’t remember what the weather was doing on the day but everyone was thrilled to be there to sing together. Some choir members made a day of it arriving hours before the performance and this concert featured members from a lot of local choirs and it took some time for the members to get into position in their harmony parts! Friends and relatives of the choir members filled the audience, creating an atmosphere of warmth and support. The choir performed songs from their recent repertoire such as ‘Green Green Grass’ by George Ezra and ‘Shake a Tailfeather’ from the Blues Brothers movie. This recital was raising awareness and funds for VICTA. Many thanks go to the prefects who were there on the day helping.

Singing in the choir is a much better ‘pick-me-up’ than any anti-depressant tablet prescribed by a doctor. I come away after the weekly choir session with the best feeling ever and the companionship with fellow members is something money can’t buy.’ – Janet (Rock Choir member)
