Any day when we get to sing our hearts out is a great day. This concert for River Festival 2023 involved choir members from across the area for the Maidstone late and morning choirs led by their choir leader Katherine Tye. Katherine said ‘They loved it and the audience were great too! We had a really nice mix of choir members families supporting and the general public there watching the choir sing.’ The event was FREE to attend.
It was threatening rain showers before the performance and rain it did during the show. Some members made a day of it arriving hours before the performance and engaging in a little local retail therapy, additionally there were a few members from other nearby choirs there to help and sing on the day. It was terrific to see the support of family and friends of the choir members, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The choir performed songs from their recent repertoire such as ‘Loco In Acapulco’ by the Four Tops and choir favourite ‘Video Killed The Radio Star’ by the Buggles. Many thanks go to the prefects who were there on the day helping.

The Maidstone late and morning choirs are a huge part of their community. The local Rock Choir groups are led by local vocal coach Katherine Tye.
